balo are Manon McCoy (pedal harp/electronics) and Will Shaw (drums/percussion).

whale detective are Hannah Brady (clarinet/alto clarinet) and Jez Matthews (piano/electronics).

Collectively baleine (french: whale), these two Sheffield-based duos were drawn together through experiments with minimal improvisation and electronics, loops, and textures.

All the tunes on this recording were entirely improvised in one day in February 2022.
